Join Bay Area alumni and families to help the California Nursery Garden Club with the day-to-day garden tasks like weeding, planting, pruning, and seeding the Fremont rose gardens.

Date: Saturday, March 16, 2024
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Time: Please plan to arrive at 8:30 a.m. to check in. The day of service begins at 9:00 a.m. Volunteers should be prepared to stand, kneel, lift, and bend on a regular basis for the duration of their service in the rose garden. Upon arrival, all volunteers are required to complete a liability waiver.

Parking: The California Nursery Garden Club is located at the intersection of Niles and Nursery Blvd in the Niles section of Fremont.
Meeting location: We will have a UCR Alumni & Family point person at the Walk in Entrance (indicated on the map by the red pin) from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
What to bring: Volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes. Sunscreen, gloves, and hats are recommended. Water may not be available on site, so you are encouraged to bring your own. Day of Service lasts from 9 – 12:00 p.m., if you’d like to bring a sack lunch or a snack, you are encouraged to do so.
What NOT to bring: No pets or wagons are allowed.
Shoe Safety: The garden requires comfortable close-toed shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. Please avoid wearing sandals, flip flops, open-toed shoes or high heels.
