Connect with Highlander Alums living in Los Angeles while giving back to our neighbors in need. Every Saturday, Blessed Sacrament Hollywood’s food pantry serves 300 low-income and unhoused individuals in the Hollywood area. Come out and help their dedicated staff sort, pack, and hand out grocery boxes to those who are food insecure. This is a great opportunity to meet UCR Alumni and friends in the LA area while doing good. This event is open to alumni, friends, and students.
Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes as a significant portion of the shift requires standing. Volunteer roles include sorting and packing food boxes and distributing groceries, snacks, and clothing. You will be interacting with unhoused residents. Some volunteers may be asked to lift up to 25lbs. but other roles are available that don't require lifting.
